My journey into the world of travel planning began not in a fancy office, but with a college backpack, a bright red compact Toyota, and a rather unforgettable lesson. I was barely 19, brimming with excitement for my first big trip with a friend. My job? Booking the hotel. My understanding of "days vs. nights" in a booking system? Let’s just say it was... evolving. Tragically. Long story short: We found ourselves abruptly checking out of our 3-star-at-best hotel (complete with cracked soap holder and unforgettable floral bed sheets, but oh-so-perfectly located right on the beach!) at 11 AM, one night too soon. There we were, two wide-eyed college girls, bags packed, with nowhere to go except our trusty little red Toyota. Thankfully, a kind hotel manager, probably taking pity on our youthful blunder (or perhaps recognizing the desperation in our eyes), snuck us back in after midnight for a few precious hours of rest. We still had a ball in that quaint little town!
